Our beloved Raul H. Rodriguez, Jr. age 73, resident of San Marcos was called by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 11, 2025. He is preceded in death by his loving parents: Raul T., Sr. & Agustina H. Rodriguez; sister: Anita R. Balles; brothers: Pedro H. Rodriguez, Tereso H. Rodriguez and Juan Jose Rodriguez; In-laws; Pablo & Janie Hernandez; and great granddaughter: Angel Marie Rodriguez. Raul was a quiet, friendly and a family man. He loved playing his guitar at home and at church assisting numerous rosary groups. Raul was an active member at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and playing the guitar at other numerous Catholic Churches and was a member of the Crucitas, The Crusada del Rosario and Coro Mariachi of St. Johns the Evangelist Catholic Church. Other hobbies included watching Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris Movies and the Andy Griffith Show. His favorite music idols included Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Augustine Ramirez and all Mariachi music. Raul was a loving supportive father to his two daughters, Ann Marie and Viviana. He was actively involved in their lives supporting them through elementary, high school to college school activities. He was always someone they could go to for support, talks, prayer and fatherly hugs. His life became even more active when his grand children were born. They were close to Raul and also was a father figure to them. He also cherished his great grandchildren who also called him dad. He was very close to his eldest great grandson Alastair. Once Raul retired from Texas State University after 30years his everyday life included going out with his beloved wife Diana. They enjoyed going out to eat together, spending time together and also spending time with the rest of his family including his close friends. He is survived by his wife of 53yrs.: Diana Hernandez Rodriguez; daughters: Ann Marie Rodriguez and Viviana Rodriguez; brothers: Isabel Rodriguez (Marisela) and his twin Arnold Rodriguez (Angie); grandchildren: Anngelina Marie Rodriguez (Christopher), Amelie Ann Rodriguez (Kevin) and Angelo Raul Rodriguez (Natalie); great grandchildren: Alastair Noel Rodriguez, Athena Alexis Rodriguez Betancourt and Rafael Alexis Rodriguez Betancourt; and other nieces, nephews other family members and friends. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, , 2025 with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church … 624 E. Hopkins St. … San Marcos, Texas. Morning Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. Friday, January 17, 2025 at Los Angeles Funeral Home … 300 Cheatham St. … San Marcos, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in San Marcos, Texas.
